Shinedown is an American hard rock group from Jacksonville, Florida, which was founded in early 2001 by four friends Brent Smith, Jasin Todd, Brad Stewart, and Barry Kerch. They have gone through a lot of line-up changes, but their two main members, main vocalist Brent Smith and drummer Barry Kerch still remain. The group has released three albums on a major label and all of them spawning successful singles such as "45", "Save Me", and "Devour". After the hugely successful Leave a Whisper and accompanying tour, the group returned to studio in 2005 to re-create their first album's success. On October 4, 2005, the band released their next album, named Us and Them, led by the singles Save Me, I Dare You, and Heroes. The main single, Save Me peaked the number 1 position of the Active Rock Charts for twelve weeks straight, setting a record for the band, however, their two other singles had similar success - I Dare You was performed on American Idol by Chris Daughtry and the album was certified Gold by the RIAA in 2007. It has three versions for release - the regular thirteen-track version, a limited edition with three bonus acoustic tracks, and a store-specific version with 2 bonus tracks - Break and Carried Away. After the album's release, the talanted band took part in 2006's SnoCore Tour with Seether, Flyleaf, and Halestorm, shorlty after the tour, they joined Trapt for the Equinox Tour.
