Flo Rida, who was born as Tramar Dillar on December 16, 1979, is an American rapper. As a teenager, he toured with local rap band 2 Live Crew. Shortly, he appeared in numerous popular rap mixtapes, most notably in We the Best by DJ Khaled in 2006, when he was signed to the Poe Boy Entertainment label, distributed by Atlantic Records. Mail on Sunday was Flo Rida's solo fist album which main single "Low" was a No1 hit for 10 weeks in early 2008. As a teenager, Tramar worked with local rap group 2 Live Crew and formed his own amateur band with some friends named "the Groundhoggz". His work with 2 Live Crew member Fresh Kid Ice attracted attention of DeVante, a member of the group Jodeci, however, he was rejected by several of the major labels, so he sought several other jobs outside of music and briefly attended the University of Las Vegas as a basketball player and Barry University. The young rapper returned to his home state of Florida to continue pursuing his music career after receiving a phone call from a representative of the independent label Poe Boy Entertainment. He signed with Poe Boy in 2007, and began affiliating himself with other Florida rappers, such as Rick Ross, Trina, and Trick Daddy. A promotional street single named "Birthday", featuring Rick Ross, was his first significant release. He would make his mainstream debut with the track "Bitch I'm from Dade County" on DJ Khaled's album - We the Best
